Launch of new Multiple Sclerosis charity

Make sense of it’ is a newly formed committee of seven dedicated women, who have decided to raise money for the MS Society. Two members of the committee have MS so they are ALL touched and affected by this awful disease on so many levels.

They are raising money for 2 separate subjects.

50% of all funds raised will go to each of the projects below:

1) CURE RESEARCH

The money raised will go towards a new and exciting project run by Dr Mark Kotter, at the University of Cambridge and in affiliation with Professor Schlomo Rotshenker at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

MS is characterized by the immune system attacking the myelin coating of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.

Both researchers are investigating new ways of repairing the myelin sheath, preventing nerve cell damage and the halting of the progression of the disease. This is crucial in the development of a cure and of treatments that can help people currently suffering with MS (see www.mssociety.org.uk for more info on this research).

2) HELPING PEOPLE WITH MS

They are raising funds for grants which the MS Society can offer to MS sufferers who are in need of emotional benefits, home adaptations, a carer, mobility support or benefit guidance (once again, more info is available at the MS society website.
